Mae T. Nelson, 90 Pharmaceuticals inspector worked in D-Y schools SOUTH YARMOUTH - Mae T. (Hickson) Nelson, 90, died April 22 at Cape Cod Hospital, Hyannis, after a brief ill-ness.She was the wife of Stanley K. Nelson, who died in 1996. They were married in 1937.Mrs. Nelson was born in Worcester and was a 1934 graduate of Worcester Girls Trade High School.She was an inspector for Astra Pharmaceuticals in Worcester for many years. She moved to South Yarmouth in 1978, and worked in the cafeteria for the Dennis-Yarmouth regional schools.She had been a member of the Worcester Club and was an active member of the West Yarmouth Congregational Church, where she volunteered in the church thrift shop for 10 years. She also volunteered at Mayflower Place Nursing Home and at the Yarmouth Senior Center bingo games. She enjoyed knitting and listening to Lawrence Welk.Survivors include two sons, Stanley G. Nelson of Worcester and Peter T. Nelson of South Yarmouth three sisters, Dorothy Briggs of Shrewsbury, Olive Johnson of Port Richey, Fla., and Lillian Wright of South Yarmouth three grandchildren one great-grandson and many nieces and nephews.She was also the mother of the late Janice Dyzko, who died in 1988.A memorial service will be at ¿ p.m. May 19 at West Yarmouth Congregational Church.Memorial donations may be made to West Yarmouth Congregational Church, 383 Route 28, West Yarmouth, MA 02664.
